What's Christian up to these days?

  • So the summer was very good. I went to Hangaren for the first time, went to Syd for Solen for the first time where I saw Ninajirachi, Blood Orange, and Fcukers, just good hangouts with friends, and obviously my trip to Hong Kong, Macao, China, and South Korea. Next step is exciting stuff at work, and something that is both exciting but a bit frightening as well - finding a new place to live, as I am getting kicked out of the dorm as I’m done with my studies hehe.

    I might write a blog post about my trip one day, but to quickly summarise - we all met up in Hong Kong and spent a few days there. Very cool city, kind people, and such good food. We also met up with a friend who lives there. Macao was next, which is like an experience you just gotta have with the boys once - luckily we didn’t lose a lot of money LOL. From there, we took the train to Guangzhou, where my friend Nicolaj lives and works for the Danish consulate. It was a very good time - we chilled and had an awesome karaoke evening. We also took a day trip to Shenzhen, where we tried driverless taxis and had food delivered by drones. After Guangzhou, we flew to Lijiang and saw the most beautiful nature, including standing at 4680 meters on the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and hiking a part of Tiger Leaping Gorge. The next flight took us to Chongqing, which was so awesome to visit - the lights at night are really my vibe, and the elevation changes were so crazy for someone like me who is used to very flat Denmark. The weather was so hot too, and we found awesome beer. A train ride later, we arrived in Xi’an, which was such a chill city to be in. It reminded me a bit of Nanjing in terms of vibes, and the local food was so good. We also had good beer from a local brewery and Mikkeller’s pop-up. After a few days, we took the train to Beijing, where they also had a Mikkeller bar, this time a more permanent one. Unfortunately, I got quite sick, so I kinda missed out on Beijing and Seoul. I will visit the cities once again some day.

    Hopefully I find a new apartment before I get kicked out, and yeah just looking forward to the upcoming period. There is a 10 year anniversary reunion for my year at Femmøller Efterskole, Oktoberfest at work. I dunno I just really like autumn as a season, also winter, like I love wearing layers of clothes, it’s just very cosy.

    I also really loved the first Roskilde announcements, like it basically implies a new Caroline Polachek project hopefully. Tame Impala is nice, I saw him (and his band) at Royal Arena last spring. I am really hyped about Underscores as I had the opportunity to see her in early 2025 as she was warming up for Porter Robinson, but as my friend couldn’t go, I chose to watch Liverpool vs Newcastle with two colleagues. So I won’t miss out on Underscores this time. I really hope that Tiffany Day somehow shows up, as Tiffany Day’s Halo album is my musical obsession these days, the album is so good and catchy.

Like what are you up to? What are you spending your time on? What are you excited about? I think it sounds quite cool, so I decided to make one for myself.
